Software Engineer with expertise in Spring, Hibernate and Struts
Location: St. Louis, Mo
Duration 12 month minimum
Phone interview and possible in-person as 2nd interview. They sometimes will hire via skype.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for developing prototypes and performing complex application coding and programming. This position interprets end-user business requirements to develop and/or modify technical design specifications for off-the-shelf and/or custom-developed applications. The Senior Software Engineer also analyzes and reviews software requirements to determine feasibility of a design within time and cost restraints. In addition, this position performs unit and integration testing and assists with developing unit test scripts. The Senior Software Engineer provides instruction and guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments.
- Code and successfully perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution as well as compliance to the business and technical requirements
- Work with other software engineers to design interfaces between software applications in order to complete design requirements
- Use system traces and debugging tools for problem determination and system tuning
- Participate in the migration of applications to quality assurance and/or the production environment
- Work with managers and team members to develop development standards
- Perform necessary production-support tasks involving on-call responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
- 5+ years related experience in software programming and development
- Proficient knowledge of object-oriented application development principles, concepts, and object-oriented analysis and design
- Proficient knowledge of OOAD, core Java, EJB, Servlets, JSP, JMS, Web Services, XML, XSLT, design patterns, and standards
- Proficient knowledge of Struts 2, Spring, Hibernate, OSCache, JUnits, Log4J, Eclipse, ANT and other build tools
- Good knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, Cascading Style Sheet (CSS)
- Good knowledge of Windows, UNIX, and AS/400
- Knowledge of Oracle, DB2 or SQL database will be a plus
- Knowledge of Weblogic and Tuxedo will be a plus
- Good oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with various IT teams and business units
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Candidate must have recent experience in core application development and troubleshooting utilizing required tools
