Job Description:
MUST have excellent communication skills!
We are looking for someone with strong JAVA, J2EE, Informix DB or Oracle DB skills. Supply Chain, Warehouse Management and Distribution knowledge is a plus. The candidate should also have strong analytical and soft skills (communication, writing, documentation).
Qualifications:
Basic:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 5-8 years experience as a technical developer building and deploying critical business applications in a production environment
- Experience in five or more of the following skills areas:
- networking concepts: Performance Analysis, Database Management
- operating systems: Windows 2000/2003, Unix, EXE/Informix, AS400
- database technologies: SQL, DB2, Oracle, 4GL, RPG
Preferred:
- Solid understanding of Distribution Operations and WMS Systems
- Strong implementing packaged software applications
- Exceptional leadership, listening and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently (self-starter and proactive) and as a member of a team.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize issues under pressure
- Strong ability to influence without having direct authority.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills (Understanding of SDLC processes).
- Strong communication skills (with internal team members and external business partners)
- Ability to design, understands or writes code, and test components within 4GL framework. SQL scripting a plus.
- EXE/Informix also a plus
Responsibilities:
1. Develop a collaborative relationship with the business partners to identify and define solutions that are efficient, reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
2. Provide technical leadership with development and support initiatives.
3. Design and develop new functionality required, participate in test, deployment, and support and maintenance activities.
4. Develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of retail business/system processes. Be able to balance complex business and technical issues to develop effective solutions that meet business and IT goals.
5. Develop application documentation that follows IS best practices and guidelines. This will include technical documentation as well as testing and implementation planning documents.
6. Monitor compliance with IS standards, policies and procedures.
7. Provide operations and production support for our onshore/offshore IT Support Team
8. Mentor junior members of the development team.
9. Embrace and apply new technologies as needed.
10. Work with change management, WMS/WHS team, other IS teams and business partners to provide updates on projects including releases.
