Location- El Segundo, CA

Required Responsibilities

•             Analytical and problem solving skills, applied to a ?Big Data? environment

•             Experience with large-scale distributed applications

•             Experience with open source frameworks [like Google PLAY , AKKA ]

•             Proven understanding and related experience with Hadoop, Hbase, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume, Hbase and/or Map/Reduce

•             Hands-on experience with related/complementary open source software platforms and languages (e.g. Java, Linux, Apache, Perl/Python/PHP, Chef, Puppet)

•             Nice to have experience with ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) tools (e.g Informatica, Talend, Pentaho)

•             Nice to have  experience with BI tools and reporting software (e.g. Business Objects)

•             Sound knowledge of Relational Databases (RDBMS), SQL & No-SQL databases

•             Experience with agile/scrum methodologies to iterate quickly on product changes, developing user stories and working through backlog

•             Prefer experience with Cloudera Hadoop distribution components and custom packages

 

Qualifications

•             Minimum of 2 year of hand-on experience programming on Hadoop

•             Minimum of 4 years systems development and implementation experience

•             Experience with the following tasks in the context of Hadoop:

•             Implementation of ETL applications

•             Implementation of reporting applications

•             Application/implementation of custom analytics

•             Administration of relational databases

•             Data migration from existing data stores

•             Infrastructure and storage design

•             Developing capacity plans for new and existing systems

•             Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technical Science
