An Analytics Specialist (AS) supports Our's efforts to develop and deploy state-of-the-art, data-driven predictive models to solve business problems. A successful AS will have a strong academic background in a quantitative discipline and a good track record of applying advanced classes of models to difficult problems. He/she will be a creative problem-solver, thinking beyond their own discipline to find innovative new modeling approaches. He/she will also be energized by applying analytics to real-world business situations and producing measureable improvements for clients. Finally, he/she will be comfortable with ambiguity and truly enjoy the challenge of creating new solutions for difficult Big Data problems.

 

Responsibilities: ·          Analysis of industrial-size data sets to determine suitability for model building Data clean-up and filtering - pattern identification, feature extraction, variable selection, experimentation with algorithms Performance analysis Preparation for communication with internal and external clients The work environment at Our Solutions is fluid, challenging and fast-paced, reflecting the diversity of our clients and their needs. Our staffing model also gives consultants the opportunity to live and work in foreign countries if they so desire.  We encourage our staff to take up firm development initiatives (e.g. organize events, participate in recruiting, improve practice areas), and we recognize and reward entrepreneurism.  Qualifications:   Junior Analyst Required: Advanced degree (masters or above) in a quantitative field (i.e., Statistics, Engineering, Machine learning, Computer Science, Physics, etc.) Software skills: Experience in Perl, C, C++, or Java. Track record (can be academic only) in applying advanced analytics to Big Data problems Strong communication and influencing skills Strong intellectual curiosity and proactive in nature  Preferred: Strong UNIX background Experience with statistics package, SAS   Senior Analyst: Must possess at least a master's or its equivalent in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Machine Learning, Physics, Econometrics or a related quantitative field. Must also possess at least 1 yr of exp. in Analytics.   Must possess classroom training &/or project work exp. w/: Perl, C, Python, C++ or Java; analytical process & approaches for at least one class of applications; UNIX;  statistics package, SAS.
