Position : .Net Web Developer
Location : Kansas City MO 
Duration : 6 Months (possible chance of extension)


SUMMARY
 
Develops web and application software using approved programming languages for internal and external use.  This includes the complete lifecycle of the product including planning, design, maintenance, upgrades, security, testing and ongoing monitoring of the software.  Provides technical support and customer service related to the technical aspects of the designed products for APWA members and staff.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
  1. Plans, develops, and enhances integration strategies between the association web sites and core association management software application using .NET framework,C#, MVC, User Control and SQL Server. 
 
  1. Contributes to all aspects of the design project including upgrades, maintenance, testing and support of the software/application and related software.
 
    3.       Develop User Interfaces using HTML, JavaScript/JQuery, responsive designs using Bootstrap and integrate with existing third partyContent Management System.
 
    4.       Develop new and support exiting reports using SSRS and IQA (Intelligence Query Architecture)provided by third party Content Management System.
 
  1. Dedicates to one of APWA's business area to support the existing business process and develop additional user interface using .NET user controls and reports using IQA.   
 
  1. As part of agile methodology, participate Sprint Planning and daily huddle to discuss development planning and progress.
 
  1. Follow the technology strategic plans and goals while working on any development, troubleshooting, support.
 
  1. Participates in regularly/weekly scheduled meetings and conference calls with your dedicated APWA business area's staff; facilitates discussion, provides guidance and assists in the decision-making process pertaining to the design study, (business and functional) workflow and website functionality.
 
  1. Coordinates with the marketing department to develop and maintain graphics and other visual resources for association's brand standards.
 
  1. Creates written documentation and user resource manuals for developed web and software applications and reports. Trains association staff on web updates/use of web development toolsby means of webinars and one-on-one conference call tutorials.
 
  1. Collaborates with APWA staff and members to provide prompt resolution to technology issues as they arise. Provides customer service and technical support on web and other applications as needed, in a prompt and efficient manner to both internal and external "customers".
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of an associate's degree (A.A.) in the area of computer science/information systems and a minimum four years of professional development experience in a .NET environment or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 
 
1.       2+ years Microsoft ASP.net webworms, user control and MVC
2.       1+ year LINQ and Entity framework
3.       2+  SSRS or BI using Microsoft technology
4.       2+  SQL server and Structures Query Language
5.       Familiar with  Service oriented architecture, WCF and TFS
6.       Any popular .NET based CMS experience preferred
 
Ability to analyze user requirements, problems and provide working solutions. Must be able to organize and prioritize work to reach deadline, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing deadlines or priorities.  Customer service and interpersonal skills are also required to be successful in the position.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals and procedures.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from staff, members/chapters.  Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from staff and chapters through appropriate training presentations.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
