Position: Release Engineer

Location: Chevy Chase, MD

Duration: 6 Months+

 

Description:

The Release Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, build, configuration and testing of all software and hardware to create the release package for the delivery of, or changes to, the designated service.

The Release Engineer has the following responsibilities:

·         Manage all aspects of the end to end release process

·         Update service knowledge management system

·         Ensures coordination of build and test environments teams and release teams

·         Ensures teams follow the organization's established policies and procedures

·         Provides management reports on release progress

·         Service release and deployment policy and planning

·         Managing release package design, build and configuration

·         Managing release package acceptance including business sign off

·         Managing release package testing to predefined acceptance criteria

·         Signs off the release package for implementation

·         Knowledge in .Net, ASP.net, C# and TFS, and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

·         Knowledge in MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 including T-SQL, Stored Procedures,

·         Frameworks like WCF, ASP.NET Web API, SOAP, RESTful Services

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation
