Direct client- JAVA Developer- US Citizen- DC

Senior Java/JEE/Web Software Engineer (MUST be a U.S. Citizen; Secret clearance is a plus)
Location: Fort Belvoir, VA or Washington, D.C.
General Requirements:

• Proven application development experience and solid understanding of good software engineering design principles
• Solid knowledge of Java and Object Oriented Programming principles
• Experience with/understanding of some of the more commonly used J2EE and related open-source technologies (e.g., Spring)
• Experience with web application development, including MVC design pattern and web application frameworks (e.g., Tapestry, JSF, Struts, Spring MVC, etc.)
• Experience with modern client-side web application technologies, including Javascript, AJAX, jQuery, CSS and HTML; knowledge of any Javascript frameworks is a plus
• Experience with XML and XML related technologies, including XML schemas and XSLT's
• Experience/understanding of ORM principles and ORM tools such as Hibernate or Cayenne
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS databases (any of MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Sybase) and comfort with creating/maintaining existing DDL and DML scripts
• Experience in customer-facing situations and the ability to clearly communicate ideas, concerns and issues with all stake holders
• Strong analytical ability and the capacity to help formulate and propose requirements from discussions internally as well as with customers. Must be able to brain storm and discuss ideas with others to identify and gather requirements, then collaborate with the appropriate functional groups to translate business domain concepts and functional requirements (stories) into working software implementations
• Experience with any of the following will be viewed as positive: open source project contributor, Mac OS X or UNIX experience, design patterns and scale-able architectures
• Familiarity with "standard" development tools, preferably Eclipse IDE, Subversion and Continuous Integration concepts/tools, is a plus
