Experience/Technical Skills Requirements:

• Working closely with the global technology team and clients in designing and implementing systems.
• Developing primarily in Slang/SecDb (more than 50% of the time) – the firm's strategic platform for risk and trade management (Training will be given).
• Full application lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, development and support, and include extensive interaction with traders, salespeople and strategists.
• Be able to solve problems.

 

Basic Qualifications:

•       3-5 years of experience.

•       Experience programming in a variety of languages (C, C++, Java), in a UNIX or Linux development environment.

•       Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies.

•       Play a lead role in requirements gathering, design and implementation phases of a significant system.

•       Ability to prioritize and balance immediate deliverables with longer term strategic initiatives.

•       Well versed with the complete software life cycle and familiarity with a number of SDLC tools.

•       Ability to multitask and lead other developers.

•       Strong written and oral communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•       Bachelor's degree/Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

•       Well-informed views on SDLC practices, including version control, testing, change management, deployment and maintenance.

•       Hands on experience with scripting languages (e.g. python, scala, perl).

•       Experienced user of open source, third party technologies.

•       Domain knowledge of Commodities products.
