Job description:

Java Tech Lead - Web Application Development. We have a contract need for a Tech Lead - Web Application Development to join our Columbus, Ohio client team. This position will entail leading a team of engineers to develop the middle and front-end tiers of a web application. This individual would need to have:

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with product sponsors and senior leadership in engineering and business.

• Ability to analyze business requirements and identify possible gaps, ambiguities, missing scenarios, etc.

• Experience with designing and implementing sound engineering solutions that meet the business need.

• Excellent problem solving and time management skills.

• Experience leading a team would be strongly preferred.

Applied knowledge of the following items:

• Java Web Development (Servlets, JSPs, JSTL/EL, Tiles)

• Spring MVC

• RESTful Web Services

• JavaScript, jQuery, MVC Frameworks (AngularJS, etc)

• HTML5/CSS3

Good understanding of the following items:

• Application Testing (e.g. unit, integration, performance)

• Code Quality and Code Review

• Responsive Web Design/Development

• Maven, Jenkins or other build/deploy tools

Awareness of the following items:

• Web Security (e.g. cross site scripting, data cleansing)

• Performance profiling and tuning

• Unix skills (navigating Unix environment, SSH/tunneling,

• SCP/SFTP to transfer files)
