Position: Application Portfolio Optimization (APO) Consultant

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 6 Months - Contract to HIRE

Key Responsibilities:

•                    Review and understand business capabilities, business strategy and IT strategy, Strategic business drivers for Technology Strategy/ IT

•                    Conduct inventory of a fairly large portfolio of applications across the enterprise

•                    Evaluate and rationalize application portfolios for fit for purpose, health, and redundancy

•                    Lead and facilitate architecture requirements and design with business and IT

•                    Perform IT assessments and building improvement plans/portfolios and be able to convince, guide and advise CIOs on moving forward

•                    Identify gaps in solution architectures and provide recommendations for improvement

•                    Align IT with business models across industry markets and lead re-engineering programs or project streams

•                    Lead diverse project teams including client, advisory, and third-party and across global regions

•                    Define/architect IT services as they relate to business processes, with an ability to relate IT services in business terms

•                    Develop application portfolio optimization recommendations and transformation roadmap

•                    Build business cases and justify application management and architecture improvements

Experience Required:

•                    12+ years of experience with atleast 5 years in technology strategy consulting

•                    Atleast 3 major APO exercises

•                    Certifications in architecture frameworks or through an established architecture program with various levels of architecture certification (TOGAF, Zachman, Gartner)

•                    analytical and conceptual thinking skills with innovative capacity

•                    ability to handle complexity and ambiguity, and provide structure to complex problems

•                    strong interaction/communication, presentation, meeting facilitation and teaming skills

•                    Integrity, maturity and dependability
