Job Title : Sr SQL Server DBA – for BI
Location : San Diego, CA 92127
Duration : 6 months (possible CTH)
Position Details:
This Database Administrator will join an experienced and customer driven operations team that manages, maintains and enhances production, development, and test database systems in a 24x7 mission critical environment.
We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter Senior Database Administrator SQL Server professional with experience implementing business intelligence solutions for a high profile project implementation. Desired candidate must have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and analytical skills. In addition, this individual will be expected to perform at an extremely high level with little learning curve and must thrive under pressure while enjoying
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology, Business or related field required.
· Minimum 5+ years of professional Database Administration experience in an operational environment particularly with Microsoft SQL Server.
· Minimum 5 years extensive experience in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server programming.
· Knowledge/Experience with Windows PowerShell
· Be able to provide all levels of database support including a sound understanding of BI Best Practices/Methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, structured query language (SQL) skills, data warehouse and reporting techniques.
· Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management and business intelligence.
· Excellent professionalism, communication, and interpersonal skills
· SQL Server 2008 DBA certification is highly desirable.
· Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
SQL Server Knowledge and Skills Required:
· Recent experience in MS SQL Server versions 2008/2012.
· Expertise with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
· Extensive knowledge with T-SQL.
· Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems;
· Expertise in relational and multidimensional database schemas, designing and building OLAP (online analytical processing) cubes, applying data mining algorithms, writing queries and designing reports. Responsibilities range from installing SQL Server Products, managing server operations, monitoring performance, and monitoring ETL jobs.
· Experience using SSIS to implement complex normalization and transformation logic to load data into a data warehouse from disparate data sources.
