Duration of assignment:6 months

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Service Delivery, the Technical Business Analyst (BA) will provide business analysis and functional requirements for a major database infrastructure initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible project work including data gathering, functional analysis, functional requirements writing, and work breakdowns for the project as a whole.  The successful candidate must possess impeccable written communication skills, demonstrate extreme attention to detail, and have the ability to articulate complex problems and their solutions to colleagues at all levels. The BA will provide support to a project team that is geographically diverse and as such must be able to communicate effectively via email, telephone, video conference, and other electronic means.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

•             Map out current processes and proposals for improvement.

•             Thoroughly document project requirements and designs

•             Create work breakdown structures in support of the project planning process.

•             Leverage product knowledge, problem solving skills, and internal resources to achieve successful designs and delivery.

•             Assist with technical presentations for management and other audiences to communicate processes and procedures.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

•             Strong business acumen coupled with a core set of technical and analysis skills.

•             Ability to analyze functional specs, interviews SMEs, and work with demo or prototypes to understand product functionality and its impact on the Infrastructure.

•             Strong problem solving skills

•             The ability to work independently

•             Manage multiple work streams concurrently and meet all deliverable deadlines

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

•             Bachelor degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Computer Science or related field.

•             3 to 5 years professional experience, preferably in technical writing or business analysis role
