Job Description
Site traffic monitoring and alerting
§ create traffic reports/alerts from Akamai Kona, Akamai ION, Load Balancers, Nginix webservers, IHS webservers, applications, etc
§ create bot reports by type and target
§ handle traffic spikes and alerts to key business transactions (product availability, product information, BOPIS, etc)
§ manage robots.txt
§ escalate any suspicious activity to IT Security
§ drive any web platform performance "soft spots" into development
§ Self-service rate limiting and blocking of bots/IPs at appropriate tiers:
§ detect bots and directly block using appropriate tools
§ Akamai Kona (edge)
§ Apigee (APIs)
§ Netscaler Load Balancer and/or Nginx (requests that don't go through Akamai)
§ drive rate limiting plans and implementation for key business transactions (AddToCart, ScheduleDelivery, etc)
§ BF Peak readiness planning/testing for bots
§ Apigee API management
§ manage clients access to production APIs
§ report on activity
§ escalate any suspicious activity to IT security
§ Bot specific infrastructure management
§ build out and maintain web servers and appservers isolated for bots
§ Akamai SPA for peak overload conditions
§ webops focal for IT Security Ops
§ point hd.com contact for IT security ops
§ review web site security infrastructure designs and processes
§ test/validate security led IDS, DDOS, and other site security efforts
§ meet weekly to review Web/Security Ops KPIs
