Oracle DBA

Location- NYC NY

Duration- 6+ Month Contract

USC or GC only

Qualifications:
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Oracle RAC, Streams (as detailed below) 
Experience working in relevant environments, i.e. Detailed and practical technical knowledge gained from a hands-on role supporting mission critical databases
Experience working in relevant market, i.e. Finance industry preferred or equivalent experience in a demanding multi-project role required
Familiarity with SAN based storage essential
A desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
A track record of constantly looking for ways to implement process and systems improvements and an excellent understanding of the mechanisms necessary to successfully implement change
Track record setting and achieving challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in his/her field
Experienced at building effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
Self-sufficient with a business-focused approach, while ensuring adherence to team standards and processes
Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements without compromising quality
 
Required Skills:
10+ Years of in depth Oracle Database administration experience on Unix/Linux (preferably RedHat) environments
Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) 10g/11g
Goldengate replication experience in oracle to oracle and heterogeneous environments
Experience with Oracle RMAN backup and recovery procedures
Experience troubleshooting and tuning Oracle SQL statements
Experience with Oracle Data Guard
Experience with UNIX shell scripting
Experience using Oracle Grid Control
Strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as documentation skills
Proven ability to work independently and with other teams
 
Preferred Skills:
Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server
Experience with EMC SAN products Clariion/VNX/VMAX
SAN based DR technologies like recoverpoint, SRDF etc.
