Need for Security Engineer / Network Engineer for 18 months contract in Brooklyn, NY

 Position: Security Engineer / Network Engineer

Location: Brooklyn, NY 11201

Duration: 18-19 months contract

Locals only, in-person interview is a must.

 

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

The resources will work with the IT Security team to perform security incident analysis using the RSA netwitness tool, the firewall logs, the event logs from the SIEM and other sources of system / network information relevant to the security investigation. The resource will be responsible for all the day to day threat and risk analysis performed using the various security tools installed in the network. They would be required to write reports with the possible threat/risk indicators with the timeline and the logs from all the relevant security systems. The candidate should have very good analytical skills. The design, analysis, and implementation of the network designed using CISCO security technologies.

•         Support the RSA netwitness implementation

•         Perform security event and log integration between RSA netwitness and the firewalls, DNS servers, network monitoring servers, Malware and URL filtering servers and ePO

•         Work with the security team to conduct incident response

•         Work with the security team to conduct security investigations

 

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:  

At least 4 years of experience with network / security systems administration skill in a large scale WAN environment with large number of endpoints.

Hands on experience with security log analysis including analysis of system and memory dump files.

Very strong understanding of tcp/ip protocol and application protocols like DNS, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS. P2P, etc,

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE :

IPS, Firewall or other Security systems administration certification from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, RSA, etc.

Prior experience working with the network or security team for the City of New York will be a plus.
