Business Systems Analyst – Claims Financial Reporting and Extracts

Lake Oswego, OR, or Denver, CO

Three Year Project, Contract-To-Hire or Direct Hire

My client is looking for a contract-to-hire or direct hire BSA for a three year project at their Lake Oswego, OR or Denver, CO location. Please send resume and times you are available to discuss if you are interested.

Overview

• Ensure Claims Financial Reporting business requirements are met throughout the SQL based report development lifecycle by working closely with solution design consultants, developers and business units.
• Primary data topic is Claims Revenue and Financial Cycle- including claims intake, adjudication, payment, rework, explanation of benefits, explanation of payment, financial reporting, general ledger, cost containment/recovery, and claims auditing reports and extracts.
• Primary deliverables include business requirements, data mappings and physical design documents, to be handed off to SQL developers (who primarily use Business Objects and Informatica), in accordance with client’s SDLC methods and templates.
• Participate in the development of system solution recommendation and alternatives.
• Provide analytical support of development integration and user acceptance testing, to ensure reports and extracts meet business requirements and supports efficient workflow.
• Ensure integration with integrated/related business applications, and consistency with established data/information standards. Collaborate/consult with other (client) regions and (client) IT to share design ideas and establish needed common definitions or work processes
• Analyze workflow, identifying operational issues.  Work collaboratively with operations and client’s IT staff to implement workflow or system improvements necessary to meet business information needs and user requirements.
• Lead working sessions among cross functional teams and drive resolution to outstanding issues
• Develop test scenarios to facilitate development testing, and support other test groups through user acceptance testing
• Full/Partial participation in creation of technical design documents

Requirements

¨       Minimum 3 to 5 years SQL experience- SQL query writing and query tools, data mining, views and stored procedures on Oracle and/or Teradata platforms.

 

¨       Healthcare Claims processing experience required: claims intake, adjudication, payment, rework, explanation of benefits, financial reporting, cost containment, audit, etc.

 

¨       Demonstrate knowledge and experience working with various SQL tools and relational data models.

¨       Understanding of report development and database concepts.

¨       Ability to translate business rules into SQL, and see how business rules are captured in a relational data model.

¨       Data analyst duties, e.g., help define business rules applicable to the development of SQL reports and extracts

¨       Experience creating data mapping documents- specifying source, transformation and destination.

¨       Experience in building reporting solutions, dashboards and scorecards.

¨       Experience with Data Warehouse and relational database concepts.

¨       Demonstrate the ability to deliver results in a fast paced environment.

¨       Experience working with vendors and other business application teams.

¨       Must be flexible and able to work in a complex and constantly changing environment.

¨       Experience using BI Reporting tools – Business Objects, Cognos and/or Informatica a plus.

¨       Experience with EPIC systems a plus, especially Epic Tapestry AP.
