Job Description:

· The Middle Tier Services Delivery team is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of middleware services that support consumer, customer, and call center agent facing applications.

The Middleware Team Lead role is responsible for 2 key areas:
• Middleware Services Development:
o Responsible for designing, developing, and delivering services into production in collaboration with other dependent teams as business needs dictate.
o Accountable for middleware service design that is available, scalable, maintainable, and extensible with minimal impact to existing capability or clients.
o Accountable for ensuring quality and reusability in a middleware services architecture.
o Consulted for their experience and expertise on implementing Design Patterns and Best Practices in middleware services development.
• Team Leadership:
o Responsible for leading a team of developers, assigning work, resolving impediments and performing quality (code/design) reviews.
o Responsible for mentoring and training resources as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should have:
• Proven track record of using design patterns and best practices to serve business needs in an efficient manner so as to increase IT bandwidth for new functionality.
• Strong feeling of "Divine Discontent" and the ability to determine when it is appropriate to use a tactical vs. a strategic solution; and how to handle "Technical Debt".
• Proven track record of leading a team of developers (onshore and offshore).
• Demonstrable background in agile development.
• Experience with MVC using Java or C#.
• Experience implementing Service Oriented Architecture patterns.
• Experience coaching, mentoring and training technical and non-technical personnel.
• Background in code review with sign-off responsibility above the peer review level.
• Familiarity with "Feature Based Design" a plus.
• Experience with Continuous Integration software a plus.

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND
The ideal candidate must have:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years software design and development experience, middle tier development required.
• 2+ years leading development teams, off and onshore team lead experience preferred.
• 4+ years of experience designing and developing with TIBCO and/or J2EE technologies; TIBCO BW, EMS strongly preferred.
• 4+ years of experience with XML, XSD, WSDL, SOAP, HTTP, JMS, FTP, XSLT and SSL required.
• 2+ years of experience with SQL Server or some other relational DBMS
• Knowledge of Enterprise .Net or Java software design and development strongly preferred.
• Experience with Test Driven Development and Agile SDLC experience.
• Experience developing and designing with SOA patterns, ESB, and UDDI registry.

Job Description:

• BW hands-on development for at least 3 years; solid knowledge of the web service, java, jdbc palettes is a must
• EDI format knowledge; at the very least we need someone who's ingested EDI into BW, mapped it, and converted it to back-end specific formats
• Java hands-on programming experience with emphasis on web service creation and interaction with the Oracle DB
• SQL knowledge (prepared statements, stored procs) and ability to create XSD's is a must
•Ability to do detailed design work as needed (in Java, BW, and DB)
