Job Title: Project Manager - GIS
Location: US-NC-Raleigh
Duration: 12 Months
Face2Face Required
Responsibilities:
The Project Management Office and GIS Unit are seeking a Project Management contractor. This resource will be utilized on various projects within the client's operations. The main responsibilities of this position include the following: perform in role of Project Manager, life cycle management, prepare and conduct status reporting and executive briefings, resource management, risk management, vendor management, time and cost management. This position will manage project timelines and lead the technical effort. This includes assigning and directing the work of staff as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required skills and abilities:
• Minimum of ten (10) years of IT project management experience
• Working knowledge of application development in a variety of technical platforms
• Planning and management skills, including scope, estimating, budgeting and resource allocation
Procedures
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Proven leadership skills including team development and leadership
• Positive interpersonal skills
• Strong written and Verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects
• Strong knowledge of Project Management processes and industry best practices
• Demonstrated experience managing application development teams
• Microsoft Suite experience (e.g, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent organizational and presentation skills
• Proven experience managing 3rd party vendor projects
• Proven experience managing large projects (> $2M)
• Proven experience developing and managing GIS Projects
Preferred Skills:
• Strongly prefer PMP Certification.
• Experience working in Project Management with the State of North Carolina
