Position: Hadoop Architect

Location: Bay area, CA

Duration: 6-12 Months

 

Job Description:           

  • Looking for Sr. level Hadoop Architect Admin with Hardware and Linux experience.
  • Experience in Hadoop (cloud era/Horton), and also perhaps a SQL background with some Linux knowledge and hopefully some good scripting skills (bash, perl, python).
  • Onsite in SF 5 days a week to start, flex and WFH after SF is comfortable with candidate and work
  • Need architecture level expertise or very strong skillset
  • Weekly Status update reports required to Customer and ACS team- strong communication and documentation
  • Planning to build on "Open Compute" hardware standards
  • Greenfield, no current cluster- Ideal candidate has built their own cluster (yahoo, facebook, linkedin would be great source companies)
  • No test cluster- going to have to build and tune
  • Not decided if using a distro like Horton or cloudera
  • For large IT dept and eventually customer data on prod side- so this cluster will be used across enterprise
