SAP FI/CO Specialist with Configuration

Purpose: This position is responsible for the configuration and support of all Finance, Tax and Treasury applications for NRG. This position will consult with users from various teams to gather and interpret requirements for Finance, Tax and Treasury projects. Applicants are typically IT Professionals with experience in SAP ECC 6.0 FI/CO system configuration and development skills. The selected person is expected to have strong working knowledge of Finance processes. The candidate must have willingness to learn other applications supported within the team/company.
Responsibilities
• Provide production support for the FI/CO SAP module.
• Identify requirements and make the appropriate system configuration changes.
• Provide support for end-users within the Finance, Tax and Treasury.
• Create and review end-user training materials and participate and/or provide end-user training.
• Respond to end-user problems; Help Desk problem tickets
• Work with SAP developers to formalize specifications for custom development.
§ Keep supervisor or team lead informed of significant cross-team, cross-functional issues and/or significant technical challenges as appropriate. Proactively work to solve these issues while including the key functional and/or business stakeholders
General Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related education/experience
• Advanced skills with data analysis and problem solving.
• Advanced skills and knowledge of technical documentation.
• Strong analytical abilities, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer facing interaction, customer service, and presentation.
• Self starter with leadership qualities who can work independently and in teams on tasks and projects with limited supervision.
• Ability to provide quality business solutions within compressed timelines and delivery dates.
• Able to work independently and communicate risks, potential problems and appropriate resolutions to supervisor
Specific Functional Qualifications
• 5 + years of experience with SAP configuration.
• SAP ECC 6.0 and EPH 5 experience preferable
• Strong working knowledge of core FI/CO business processes.
• SAP FI/CO configuration experience in the following areas: GL, AP, AR, Tax and Treasury.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP FI master data with the ability to analyze the impact of configuration or process changes across other SAP modules
