Oracle Developer- Nucleus Trading Systems
Client: Shell
Location: Houston
Duration: 12 months
Pay Rate: $70 C2C
7+ years of related work experience in Nucleus Trading Systems.
Development and Production support experience with Oracle Forms and Reports preferably with Nucleus suite of products. Knowledge and understanding Nucleus stored procedures, packages, views, and triggers as well as very good understanding of the Power Trading industry.
Excellent communications skills
The ability to work well in a team environment and have the ability to work well with the end users.
Good problem solving skills and also need the ability to perform work in high pressure situations.
Basic understanding of the general flow of business / data within the systems.
Good at multi-tasking, as this role requires hands on in many areas.
SKILLS:
1. Oracle Forms/Reports 10g (Required),
2. .NET/C# (Required),
3. PL/SQL (Required),
4. Java, Visual Basic (6.0) (Preferred)
Preferred Software/Tools: Toad / Rapid SQL / SQL Developer, Citrix, SVN, TIBCO, ClearQuest
Databases: Oracle 10g, SQL Server
Possess analytical ability to be able to identify possible root cause cause, and provide workaround / solutions for problems or issues.
Able to interact well with others.
Familiar with functional business models and statistical process control.
Understand database structure and tables.
Possess broad knowledge of business functions, and familiar with presentation techniques and business characteristics.
Expect to be on a on-call rotation for 24x7 production support needs.
Willing to do occasional after hour support or weekend work for Production Support or Project Implementation work other than the scheduled on-call rotation.
Role Accountability:
Candidate will work with clients/users to do the following.
Investigate and model business functions, processes, information flows and data structures as part of day to day production support primarily around Nucleus.
Diagnose and troubleshoot business related issues, including but not limited to MTM, PNL, Exposure, EOD processing issues; for the trading, risk management, Operations and Accounting user.
Define requirements for improving any aspect of the processes and systems.
Create viable specifications in preparation for the construction of information systems.
Create and update documentation of IT and business processes.
Candidate will be expected to handle generic IT analytical thinking, information acquisition and gap analysis.
Diagnose and troubleshoot user, process and server error logs to evaluate and analyze problems or issues.
Perform analysis that addresses root cause, temporary work-around, and long term solutions.
Build test plan/test cases/test scripts, perform unit testing, and thoroughly document the results.
Follow established processes and company policies as well as understand segregation of duties and how it impacts IT organization.
Candidate will be expected to work productively under pressure, and under strict deadlines.
Candidate needs to be able to share knowledge through documentation or conducting training.
