C++ Migration Engineer

Position: C++ Migration Engineer 
Duration: 9+ months
Start Date: 9/4/2012
Location: New York NY

Job Title: C++ Migration Engineer - there are two spots available… one senior level consultant (Lead/Architect Level) and one Mid-Level Developer.

Responsibilities:

·         Support engineering of AMod capabilities and tools solutions

·         Produce component build artifacts and publish in Knowledge Centre

·         Provide direct support for delivery of engineered solutions

·         Interface and maintain a technical relationship with vendors to maintain product knowledge and to ensure engineering direction aligns with vendor roadmap

·         Interface and lead Delivery teams to develop global processes, standards and solutions

·         Interface with Technology & Architecture team to ensure engineered solutions are included in the appropriate architectures and Tech Policy

·         Interface with Portfolio team to ensure engineered solutions are included in the cost of models and reflected in the HP respective service offerings

Technical Skills:

·         Expert in "C", "C++"

·         Expert in shell scripting ;

o   csh

o   bourne

o   ksh

o   bash

·         Experience in JAVA development and tools

·         Knowledgeable in other languages and architectures

·         Understands Virtualization from a high level

·         Integrate Solutions with other components (where applicable)

·         Provide Packaging guidance Solutions for Apps Delivery, as needed

o   Produce Technical Reference Guide

o   Produce Deployment Guide

o   Produce Operations Guide

o   Produce User Guide (where applicable)

o   Produce Training Materials (where applicable)

·         Review processes, standards, requirements, etc. and discuss as appropriate to ensure full comprehension

Preferred Experience:

-          Large applications development and technology experience

-          Experience working with server class application development, implementation and support

Years of Experience:

-          Undergraduate Degree, BS, IT preferred
