Title: Senior SQL BI Developer
Location – Bentonville, AR
Duration – 6 months
Summary:
This individual will serve as the primary business intelligence developer on assigned projects. They will work with solution architects and business analysts to produce data meeting the requirements specified. They will assist in the development of a full business intelligence platform, including database design, ETL development, and reporting utilizing data acquired through emerging technologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements produced by solution architects and analysts to design BI systems in support of projects
- Handle the large scale extract and transformation of customer data from enterprise data warehouses to produce the specified metrics
- Create OLAP cubes to support rapid viewing of metrics across multiple dimensions
- Create dynamic and interactive reports accessible to end-users
- Configure servers and environments to support solutions developed
- Develop testing methodology for solutions developed
- Collaborate on problem resolution, team decisions and project planning
- Serve as a senior technical advisor to the team
Experience / Education:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems or related field
- Minimum 4 years work experience in business intelligence development.
Skills:
- Capable of writing and executing basic and complex SQL queries to extract data from a database.
- OLAP Cubes
- MDX Expressions
- ETL Development
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration, Analysis, and Reporting Services
- C , Java, or .NET or other comparable programming languages .net
- Some programming experience (such as Perl) which may be necessary to process, filter and summarize data in ways that are hard to handle with SQL queries or SSIS.
- Some experience working with Retail data.
- Experience with the Teradata DBMS is a plus
- Experience creating and deploying reports using BIRT.
