Job Title: GUI/UX Developer
Location: San Ramon, CA

Duration: 12 Months

Job Description for UI Developer:

As a UI Developer, you will work closely with Designers and System engineers to build and shape the public interface of cloud and web offerings.
As a UI Developer, you will:

- Act as a member of the Software Center of Excellence, representing the face of high quality design and development practices.
- Develop front-end systems with HTML5, JavaScript, PHP, Node.js, Redis and CSS.
- Collaborate with system engineers, backend developers and user experience design teams to implement UI solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions.
- Have a solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure needed to run a large distributed web application.

 

Qualifications/Requirements: -

 

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or related field with at least 5 years' experience working in software development.
- Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems.
- Knowledge of new technologies (such as PHP 5, CSS, HTML5).
- JavaScript — rich interactive client interfaces (e.g. Ext.js), JSON, AJAX, DOM manipulation, Node.js
- MySQL or other database experience.
- Experience using SOAP and RESTful web services.
- Solid understanding of scalable design principles.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the
future, for this job opening.
- Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
- Must be willing to travel.

 

Desired Characteristics –

 

Solid understanding of Linux or Unix operating systems.
- Experience building web apps in a load balanced environment.
- Experience working with and configuring web servers and databases.
- Understanding of storage systems, firewalls, VPN, networking and/or virtualization technologies.
- Understanding of pub/sub techniques.
- Experience with emerging technologies: NoSQL datastores (CouchDB, Memcached, Redis), WebSockets.
