Title: Java Programmer

Location: Bellevue, WA

Duration: 6 Months +

Bill Rate: Open

 Complete Description:
Translates requirements into code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging, ensuring adherence to defined engineering processes. Proposes improvements in design and processes.
Responsibilities:

 

·         Implement platform features working as part of cross functional team using Scrum - participate in Scrum meetings, work with QA, DB, Information Security, Release engineers and Product Owners

·         Implement changes to automated build and continuous integration tools and processes

·         Work with NOC and Infrastructure Support teams to resolve production issues

·         Provide input into platform architecture

 

Skills and Experience:

 

·         OO analysis and design

·         Design patterns, including messaging and integration

·         Data structures and algorithms, preferably with search, sort, ranking, caching and event processing

·         Java programming language, including collections, concurrency and garbage collection tuning

·         Java Web Application containers (Tomcat, etc.)

·         Java Web Services (SOAP, REST, etc.), protocols and deployment

·         Java data access with both JDBC/SQL and ORM (Hibernate, etc.)

·         Test Driven and Behavior Driven development practices and tools (JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, easyb, Fitnesse, etc.)

·         Java ecosystem of tools including automated build and continuous integration (ANT, Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)

·         Exposure to distributed data storage including NoSQL (Cassandra, HBase, etc.)

·         Exposure to distributed caches (EHCache, etc.)

·         Exposure to cloud (AWS, etc.) and parallel (Hadoop MR, etc.) computing

·         Unix environment

·         Agile development methodologies, preferably Scrum.
