CONTRACT TO HIRE

 

We are looking for a Java designer with advanced J2EE, web technologies (HTML, Javascript, jquery, …), database (Oracle, DB2, MYSQL, …), and web and application server (WebSphere Application Server, JBoss, …) experience 

Java App Design Engineer Quick Summary Script
Java Applications Design Engineer where the primary focus is designing new applications and new enhancements for existing applications. Also involved in the intergration of OTS apps with existing systems and technology platforms.
This is a high visibility position you would be working with managers and directors from all the major business areas where design requirements msut be considered in the context of those business areas.
You would be reporting directly to the Design/Architect Manager & collaborating with 3 Designers and 3 Architects. Tons of work and long term projects on the table with this client.

 

·         Object oriented analysis, design, and programming (3 years minimum)

·         Ability to clarify and find incomplete requirements, and to depict them

·         visually using UML

·         Command of Core J2EE patterns and GoF patterns

·         IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA)

·         Command of code "smells", design principles, refactoring techniques,

·         Unit-testing

·         Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

·         Knowledge and experience with different software methodologies (e.g. RUP,

·         Agile, TDD, XP, SCRUM)

·         SQL - relational database experience (application side)

 

Java Architect Design Developer  

Key Job Responsibilities:
Develops the overall technical and functional design in alignment with the defined architecture for business system applications, consistent with client requirements and schedules. Incumbents frequently work within object-oriented environments but are also expected and required to integrate applications from other design environments. Work may include designing new applications, designing enhancements to existing applications, and / or integrating purchased applications with existing systems and technologies. The primary focus of this position is on the effective design and implementation of applications that optimize the use of technology and meet client business needs. Projects typically involve work with the management staff in major business areas where the design requirements must be considered in the context of other major business areas.

Qualifications:
Experience:

Required:

·         Design/Development in a multi-tier J2EE environment (3 years minimum)

·         Communicated design and program specifications from scenario-based requirements (2 years minimum)

·         Java Development (2 years minimum)

·         Serve as technical and functional resource for Application Developers (2 years minimum)

·         Substantial experience (with positive results) interacting with nontechnical business-minded people

Preferred:

·         XML SOAP Middleware Web-Services Integration across tiers/technologies

·         AJAX

·         Websphere Portal

·         Eclipse-based development experience

·         Subversion

·         Maven

·         Spring Framework

·         TDD, Pairing, Refactoring, and other Agile practices

·         Leading a team coordinating the work of others or being a technical lead

 

Knowledge and Skills:

Required:
