Web Developer/Drupal

Location:WI

Duration: 6 Months contract

Job Description:

Primary duties:

•       Participate in team devoted to development and maintenance of a Drupal content management system

•       Create design prototypes, including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content for the department web site, Intranet, and other web sites

•       Works with others to prepare and stage production builds, and verify production releases meet technical and business expectations.

•       Collaborates with others to establish the physical application framework (e.g. libraries, reuse, modules, and development environments)

•       Ensures the development and execution of unit test plans to validate that application modules meet technical specifications

•       Ensures technical inspections are performed at appropriate stages of development

•       Ensure the layout of content is logical, promotes intuitive user actions and maintains conformed usability practices; recommend improvements as necessary

•       Creates production support documentation

•       Build web sites using technologies that conform to international accessibility standards and make sure that they are universally accessible

•       Must have familiarity with the following disciplines within the context of Drupal 7 framework:

•       High working knowledge of PHP, MySQL and Drupal CMS

•       Module development / customization

•       Taxonomy as it relates to the creation of dynamic content

•       Experienced with internal workings of Drupal core, e.g., actions, triggers, how pages are constructed/cached, etc.

•       Experienced in deploying a Drupal project across multiple environments, i.e., development, staging, production, etc.

•       Experience researching needs to determine if user-contributed module existing contributed modules can fulfill solution requirements a plus

•       Working with Drupal calendar module and integration with other calendars such as Google

•       Knowledge / experience working with mobilization tools (e.g., Mobile Tools module)

•       Experience migrating content to Drupal a plus
