Java/J2EE Developer - Immediate Interview

** HOT REQUIREMENT**

 

Role:         Java/J2EE Developer

Location:   Grand Rapids, MI

Duration:   9 Months

MUST have strong Spring. 

Below are more details.

Percentage of Time  Tasks Required

40% Developing Java code in maintenance of existing Java applications

10% Developing Java code for new Java applications

5% Writing and maintaining sql for Java application access to database(s)

40% Writing test cases for new and existing Java code

5% Meeting with Team Lead/Architect to refine requirements

 

Knowledge

Java 6 and Java 7, SQL-92 standard SQL, Spring 3.x Framework, Weblogic 10.x, JUnit 4.x, UML, Java EE, J2SE, Ant, Maven, Oracle 10g, Unix, Subversion, Jasper

 

Skills

Ability to work both collaboratively in a paired programming setting and independently as tasks demand (and ask questions when necessary to better leverage subject matter experts and minimize development delays);  Ability to modify existing code to meet new requirements;  Ability to make recommendations for code changes when options for a solution exist; ability to perform research into code and communicate findings to team lead and/or architect;  ability to understand and communicate using UML; Ability to work with version control systems;

 

Quality Practices

Experienced in writing high quality JUnit test scripts.  Test Driven Development (TDD) coding experience/practices are required.    Experience in writing functional test scripts using JBehave or Cucumber-JVM strongly desired.

 

Other Characteristics

Self-starter, Takes pride in their work, Excellent communication skills, Work well in a team dynamic but can also work well independently.

 

Knowledge

Maven, Eclipse 3.x, Subversion, XML, Order Management Systems

 

Skills

Performance tuning skills are a plus.  Agile programming experience is also strongly desired.
