Duration: 6+ months
Must-haves
- webMethods Integration Server & Broker (versions 6.5/7.1) - Integration Server and Broker may not be in their resume...just ask
- ability to map using webMethods Flow & Java services
- webMethods built-in service libraries
- Java EE - specifically EJB, JMS & JDBC specifications (the drivers are part of the J2EE server)
- webMethods EJB, JMS & JDBC Adapters - this is the actual application
- Developing & consuming Web Services using webMethods
- Conceptual knowledge of SOA and associated standards (HTTP, SOAP, XML, WSDL, etc.)
- Understanding of XML Concepts/XML Schemas & processing XML in webMethods
- Processing flat files in webMethods (ask them if they've processed files - they will be taking files and processing them from EDI or XML)
- Java 6 - Core; Collections; Threads; I/O (input and output); Java Logging; Regex; Transactions etc. (ask them if they've done threading before)
- webMethods Java API
- Broker Concepts - Clients, Queues, Triggers, Publishable Documents, Guaranteed Delivery etc.
- SQL (Oracle) exposure
- Unix Basics (Solaris/Linux) exposure
Plusses
- Regular Expressions
- Unix Scripting (Any of Shell/Perl/Python)
- Familiarity with EDI Standards
- Integration Design Patterns
- Familiarity with distributed environment and network architecture concepts (Load-Balancing, VIPs, Firewalls, Virtualization etc)
- Security Concepts - PKI, SSL, HTTPS, SFTP, Keys, Certificates etc.
- Experience in Retail Industry - Store Chains with Orders, Point Of Sale Financials, Inventory, etc. processes
- Developing webMethods DSP pages
Day-to-Day
This person will be working regular business hours and be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Data mapping and transformation with webMethods Flow & Java Services
- Low-level design and development, producing high-quality reliable interfaces
- Providing development LOEs
- Performing change impact analysis
- Providing task level status to project managers on a regular basis
- Understanding Technical Design & Mapping documents
- Working with clients (internal/external) to develop data mappings
- Working with QA & UAT teams on testing, troubleshooting and defect fixes
- Creating webMethods build documentation for deployment to test & production
- Creating and updating documentation (on team wiki)
- Monitoring application logs for issues
