Role: MS SSIS Developer
Business Intelligence Enterprise Data Warehouse Developer
The BI Enterprise Data Warehouse Developer will to develop, support, and test SQL 2008 and
SQL 2012 data warehouse applications. This will include all components of the Microsoft
Business Intelligence technology stack( SSIS, occasional SSAS and SSRS engagements) with
heavy emphasis on dimensional modeling and schema development following industry best
practices (Kimball, Inmon, etc.). Exceptional communication and customer service skills will
allow this talent to coordinate cross-functionally and with end users to in their development
activities. This position reports to the Sr. Business Intelligence Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
80% Technical Design, Development and Implementation
. Designing and implement SQL Server DataMarts and Data Warehouses using best
practices in accordance with Microsoft guidance.
. Develop concise EDW dimensional models, accompanying SQL Server schemas (Star,
Snowflake, etc.) and efficient ETL capabilities (SSIS).
. use Data Modeling techniques to define your bus matrix in support of your schema
development.
Work closely with Project Managers, BAs and Integration Testing Team to ensure
delivery of high quality solutions that meet functional and business requirements.
20% Ad-Hoc & Other
' Assist other developers in, design and implementation ensuring best practices are followed.
' Troubleshoot and diagnose critical production issues.
' Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
' 5+ years experience designing and developing database solutions using T-SQL in SQL
Server 2008 or 2005.
' Experience in designing data models, Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas and 1-3NF data
models.
' Good understanding of systems engineering (to ensure high performance BI architecture
using CPU, memory, storage, caching etc.)
' Experience with SSIS in efficient ETL development and familiarity with SQL 2008 and
2008 R2 ETL enhancements (e.g. 'Merge' statement usage, 'Change Data Capture'
implementation, etc.)
Familiarity with SQL Server 2012 Business Intelligence enhancements a plus.
